To Fashion Report or Not To Fashion Report. Style Boston TV party, I just wanted to have fun…

It’s nice to be finally acknowledged for something that I’ve been doing since I started to make my own school uniform for high school. One of my friends initially had me as her +1 for the Style Boston TV anniversary party, care of her infamous Peace Coat, that Joseph Gordon Cleveland used for a past Fashion event at the Liberty Hotel. Recent postings of me, moi, The Well-Heeled Guru in my boots du jour, M’Green Suede Boots, M’Green Suede Boots, care of Balenciaga + gear, got me my on the guest list with my own +1, if only I knew beforehand. I can’t tell you how much joy + chuffed-ness, this 40+ MILL feels, to have 15 mins of local Boston Fashionability.

Anyway so I asked myself would I fashion report, but then decided after all this time, I’m just going to have fun, although this post could be construed as a self indulgent post of what I wore.  I decided to give the deets on my get up,  a) because there have been detail requests and b) I prefer to give some insight into looking fab without following trends, with a capital T.

It’s Fashion Week and It’s Style Boston’s Anniversary Party, what’s a girl to wear? Since I was going to go direct from yoga, it had to fit in my Plank Tote, crease proof and statement making at the same time.

First was the purple applique, leather batwing dress, followed by a gold metal scale elastic belt du jour, both items purchased from Fly Vintage, Lincoln Road, Miami.

On purchase, the batwing dress was shapeless + baggy. Batwings from the 80’s evolved from the lower waist, the excess material only served to make one look plumpier, I tapered my batwing to start above the waist into the armpit,  resulting in a modern, sleeker looking batwing, then raised the dress from calf length to above the knee. To belt or not to belt, that was the question, I threw out to friends + Joseph Gordon Cleveland, dashing presenter of StyleBoston.tv. I deferred to his expert stylist opinion of adding a high gloss, 80’s feel to dress up the tailored box shift shape of this dress.

M'Green Suede Boots, M'Green Suede Boots, care of Balenciaga...

Since I’m all about the accessories, I added my new millenium hippy beaded headband, with my yellow horse necklace from Phillipa Kunisch, Plank’s Vedanta Purse worn short, shoulder disco style and to top it all, from the bottom up,  Balenciaga’s Green Suede Boots, Green Suede Boots. As Fashion Boston, puts it, I mix and match and never miss or if I do, I just don’t fashion apologise, I just pull my shoulders down + back, as I do for many a fierce Warrior Pose and go with flow in confidence…

Here are some pictures of my partners in crime, Aricia Elmer, Stylist, Shift Your Style + Jill Palese, Design Salon member + more besides…

Thank you NECN’s, StyleBoston.tv for putting on a fantabulous event, with Pol Roger, Champers, Patron cocktails and delicious nibbles from Davios, where we ended up the night, along with many a guest once the 10pm close time for the party came along… I hope I’m on the next guest list, it would be nice to know in advance, so that I can have my own +1 to razzle dazzle with next time…
