From the ground upwards, it’s all in your feet. Seriously can there be any more to learn, yes says Tara Judelle…

Thanks to Yogaglo‘s online classes, Tara’s Relearn Your Foot class, her blog post follow up gives more detailed explanation of why the foot is so important. I said I’d share my fave insights from the font of knowledge that Tara generously shares…

“Through” her “blog, it is now my intention to offer more insight and information.  Since a 90 minute, or one hour class can only hold so much information… Maybe this teaching should have come first.”

For me, in an ideal world the teachings should come first, however I know through my own discovery of yoga’s benefits, I was not prepared to listen. That is the same for life too, whether it be about myself, business, parenting and beyond. I already know this stuff, not unitl it’s not working out, then I go and seek insight, education or support.

“The good news is, that the potentiality of our bones, and muscles is never lost.  If we reclaim the original pattern/function, the equanimity and healing will be restored.  And your body wants that”

This is HUGE, here Tara is saying through relearning the function and ability of our feet the capacity to heal the body is possible. The more common human trait when injured or in pain is to no longer work the foot. Instead we over compensate and apply all weight to the other foot or stick a load of “supportative” aids to create a foot/foundation that is too weak to support the rest of the body, that it was designed to take care of.

“To date I know of runners, soccer pros, dancers and bikers who have reformed their feet based on this basic information. I’ve felt the way that by shifting my feet, I’ve realigned my femur bones in my hip sockets.”

I myself have used very simple grounded tools for myself to strengthen the arch of my foot, in order to wear ANY shoe I want to wear, to help my business consultant take pain out of her feet when running and for a colleague to wear dress shoes again after being stamped on by a soccer cleat…

This is the actual yoga class where you can experience the possibilities for the whole of your body through simple articulation of the foot.

This is my journey into yoga care of Plank, my business where I wear-test Plank Yoga Mats yoga mats in all different yoga conditions. My journey started with Bikram Yoga to Baptiste Hot Power Flow, which is the doing/practice classes, i.e. Before Internal Insight. Which led to Iyengar & Anusara Yoga Classes which are learning classes, i.e. Internal Insight classes… For the record, Plank Yoga Mats performed as effectively in hot steamy classes as others, completely wiping off the moisture that doesn’t get trapped in grooves of other mats, is the access to regaining the mat’s grip.

Off to take the Relearn Your Feet class now… If you take it let me know if any of your poses improved, the one’s on the mat and the one’s off the mat too.. Preferably a Plank Mat, but any mat will do…
