To Keep or Not To Keep, Lanvin’s Blade Runner Esque Bootie…

After last weekend’s High Heel Endurance Class thru’ Yoga in the Shoe Department of Neiman’s, you’d think I’d be all set with shoes, but alas, there will not be enough permutations of heels, last shapes, materials + styles for me to say, no to just one more shoe. Not for this past life, shoe designer. Hence after a day of standing firm in heels, I popped over to Barney’s to check out their tall boots too. I was smitten with a pair of Barney’s Coop OTK boot, but then I tried on this bootie + my heart went boom diddy boom, diddy boom, diddy boom, diddy boom, boom, boom…

Lanvin's Blade Runner Esque Bootie licious...

As I slipped it on and tried to stride around, after a day of using tools to assist standing taller with confidence, I was baffled by my wobbling. I tried on a different size and low and behold, as I strode about imaging the plethora looks this bootie would go with, my hardened disappointment melted + thus I was able to fall back in love again…

However I was intrigued to discover why, the wobble. The dormant Shoe Designer never sleeps, check out the photo + the answer is apparent…

Are these heels centered, looks like the shoes need some alignment work too...

Note, from left to right, you will notice the heel’s plumb line is veering off to the outside of the shoe. The shoe to the right of the photo, has a solid centre/plumb line from heel’s centre to the ground.

Anyway, I had a pair sent to me with the heel’s High Heights, being driven down to the ground, with a strong perpendicular plumb line, but now the question is to keep or not to keep this bootie…

What I love about this style

  • The Blade Runner Drama
  • The metal heel, when correctly crafted + positioned
  • The asymmetry
  • The last (toe shape)
  • The modest platform
  • Did I mention the D R A M A

Why I am in a quandary

  • I have heels
  • I came in for a flat OTK boot
  • It’s 1/2 a size too big, again!!! 35.5’s puleeasse…
  • I have heels
  • I came in for a flat OTK boot
  • Oh + it’s in season, so $$$
  • I have heels…

But oh look when they’re on even with the ubiquitous Lululemon Groove pant, the D R A M A is addictive…

Lanvin's Blade Runner Asymmetric Drama...

Which one’s are keepers, the Barney’s Coop OTK boot or Lanvin’s Blade Runner Asymmetry…

WHG, an expert in all things, shoes + heels + fitting yoga into a busy lifestyle…
