Walking the Talk, on being Open and Fun…

Open Toe, Ruthie Davis + Fun, Lil Miss Match Socks...

Having been utterly p*** off  for being forced, kicking, sulking and swearing like a sailor, back to square one, because my project was not progressing as planned. I set my intention for the following day for being Open, Fun & Generous. Since I am a strong proponent of walking the talk, check out the literal interpretation of being open and fun… i.e. Open Toe Sandals and Fun Socks…

The Hi Heels are care of Ruthie Davis, the go-to brand for extreme glamour and the socks are care of Lil Miss Matched, care of Toys R Us, the go-to store for maximum child indulgence. There are mothers who try very hard to hold onto their youth refusing to age gracefully, believing that dressing like their daughters is the elixir of youth. Similarly, since I refuse to age, without kicking, sulking and swearing like a trooper.  Oddly enough,  I am inspired by my daughter’s wardrobe and I revel in these lil fashion in-jokes, rather than be a joke…

The best part of styling this ensemble, was the results, i.e. a number of smiles and compliments from many a-passer-by, many of which were blokes. The highlight being, as I checked in to the doctor’s office, a little ol’ man stood sidled right next to me, totally invading my personal space, leaning into me and whispered, “I just simply love the socks…” As I made their day, with the beauty of literal translation of being Open and Fun… They made mine…
